Welcome!

Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible and first occurs in Acts 2:41-27, where we read:

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teachings and to the fellowship, the breaking of bread, and to prayer. And fear came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common; and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together, and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people, and the Lord added to their number daily, those who were being saved.”

Lake County Koinonia is a group of people who love Christ and want to see others strengthen their relationship with Christ through three key components:

1) Koinonia Weekends –  From a Friday Evening through a Sunday Afternoon, Koinonia Weekend participants are immersed in a weekend of spiritual renewal led by your friends and neighbors, along with the assistance of ordained ministers.  We don’t want to sound too vague when new participants ask a lot of questions about what happens on a weekend, but many facets of the weekend will come as unexpected blessings and surprises, so come with an open heart, and you’ll be completely blown away by genuine examples of Christ’s Love!

2) Group Reunions – Your walk with Christ in coordination of a church home should be your first priority in supporting your Faith Walk, but we believe that a small accountability group that regularly meets is crucial to your development as a Christ Follower.  New Koinonians will be offered the opportunity to take part in a local Group Reunion with fellow Koinonians, and anyone who has taken part in a Weekend can always contact our Group Reunion Chairpersons to get involved with a Group Reunion at any time.

3) Ultreyas – The word “Ultreya!” is Spanish for the word “Onward!”,  and the Lake County Koinonia believes in recharging your spiritual battery by getting together with other Koinonians a few times a year to connect through worship and meals.   Watch the website for upcoming Ultreya dates!
